One of the most difficult, deep, dangerous and divine to understand is Love. It is the most obvious yet highly unpredictable emotion of our lives. History is filled with anecdotes of sacrifices, deceits, romantic endings, territorial wins and lost battles.
Love in the times of Corona, has not gone unscathed either. For that matter it has made us realise the true meaning and expression of this wonderful emotion.
To begin with, our reasoning, our need and our expression of love will be seeing a shift from the past. We will see hearts growing fonder and relationships getting stronger. Some long distance affairs will thrive and some hitherto close by will struggle to survive.
We’ll see more face time and ‘our’ time. There will be a conscious effort from everyone to be expressive in their feelings and emotions.
We may also see prioritization of love in the coming days. We will be selective and selfish in sharing our love and affection with everyone. Unlike charity love will surely begin at home. Love will be prioritised for the family and the kin and the reminder will then be shared on a case-to-case in measured proportions.
Infatuations, impulsive behaviours and materialistic obsessions will lose their plot to human love. Lines of differentiation between empathy, affection, liking, care, lust and love will appear starker than before.
The rules of the love will change for future. Commitments and courtships will be negotiated harder. Old promises will be reviewed and new will be renewed. Some lines will get blurred and some new journeys will start. This situation is an acid test for any relationship. The intent and the inclination to hold on or to let go will become evident.
This does not mean that love is at fault. Love does not change. It’s the people who change due to mind sets, situations and needs. Best way to experience and live love is not to expect anything in return. Expectations defame love and causes heartburns. Stay true to your emotions and give your sincere best. Tread with caution and walk the path with care.
Do not regret if you don’t find reciprocal. Its human and its possible. Stay happy and content for you have not lost your love while their lives only got poorer. Let the flame burn, for most of the world is still struggling in the dark.
